Most of the applications were legacy systems based on Oracle or WebLogic environments, which made modification difficult. The organisation also required a standards-based approach to enable secure remote access and Single Sign-On (SSO) across all applications simultaneously.
Another complication was that the applications were accessed through a single hostname, which required careful architectural design. Since the applications handled sensitive financial data, maintaining a strong security posture was essential.
At the same time, the organisation wanted to provide a simple and intuitive user experience for employees accessing applications remotely while strengthening security controls.
Following a successful proof of concept, the organisation selected Okta to deliver secure, standards-based federated single sign-on across all legacy applications.
The solution provided a single pane of glass experience for employees regardless of their location. It was deployed as a managed service in the Okta Cloud, delivering a resilient authentication service that did not rely on infrastructure in a single country or region.
A major advantage of the solution was its flexible deployment model, which allowed users to authenticate against their local identity sources, typically Active Directory in their home office.
This approach removed the need to create or manage separate global identities and credentials for each employee.
Okta Access Gateway integrated seamlessly with Okta Identity Cloud, providing a secure authentication and SSO layer for legacy applications. The solution enabled organisations to modernise access controls for legacy systems without modifying the underlying applications.
Trevonix designed, built, deployed, and delivered the complete solution to the customer within four weeks.

Employees can now securely access legacy applications from anywhere using their existing Active Directory credentials and application URLs.
The new architecture has significantly improved the user experience while enabling employees to collaborate globally across multiple application environments.
User productivity increased substantially due to simplified application access and reduced login friction.
The organisation also strengthened its security posture around remote application access. Following the success of the implementation, several regional offices began expanding the platform to secure additional applications and services across the organisation.
