Trevonix is proud to announce that our Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) transformation project done for United Rugby Championship (URC) has won the Digital ID category at the prestigious European Identity and Cloud Awards 2026.
Our founder, Ganesh Sharma attended the event on behalf of Trevonix, joining identity leaders, cybersecurity experts, and technology innovators from across the globe for one of the industry’s most respected gatherings focused on digital identity and access management.
The recognition celebrates Trevonix’s work with United Rugby Championship, one of the world’s leading professional rugby competitions spanning five nations and reaching a global broadcast audience of more than 173 million viewers.
Building a Better Digital Experience for Rugby Fans
The project focused on replacing URC’s legacy identity infrastructure with a modern, scalable Customer Identity and Access Management platform powered by Auth0 Customer Identity Cloud.
The goal was simple: create a smoother, faster, and more secure experience for fans across the URC mobile app, website, and URC TV platform.
Delivered ahead of the 2025–26 season, the new platform introduced passwordless authentication using passkeys and biometrics, giving fans a more seamless login experience while strengthening overall account security.
The implementation also brought together several important capabilities, including:
- Single sign-on across multiple URC platforms
- Automated migration of existing customer accounts
- Progressive profiling to support more personalised fan experiences
- Integration with backend analytics and data warehouse systems
- GDPR-aligned identity and consent management
- Social login and branded authentication journeys
More Than an Identity Upgrade
What made this project stand out was the way identity was approached as part of the overall fan experience rather than just a technical requirement.
The new platform gives URC the ability to deliver more personalised content, tailored club updates, fantasy gaming experiences, and seamless access across services using a single trusted identity. At the same time, it improves operational efficiency and creates a stronger foundation for future digital growth.
Security also played a major role throughout the project. Passwordless authentication, authentication event logging, anomaly detection, and phishing-resistant login flows were all built into the solution from day one.

Recognition from the Global Identity Community
The European Identity & Cloud Awards recognise organisations delivering meaningful innovation across digital identity, IAM, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. Winning the Digital ID category is an important milestone for both Trevonix and the wider project team.
For Trevonix, the recognition reflects the growing importance of identity in shaping secure and connected digital experiences.
This project was about creating a foundation that could support both security and fan engagement at scale. From seamless logins to richer personalisation, every part of the solution was designed around improving the overall digital experience while keeping identity secure and future-ready.
The award also reinforces Trevonix’s continued commitment to helping organisations modernise identity infrastructure through practical, scalable, and user-focused solutions.
Looking Ahead
As organisations continue to invest in connected digital experiences, identity is becoming central to how brands engage users, secure platforms, and build long-term trust.
The success of the URC project demonstrates how modern CIAM can go beyond authentication to become a key driver of customer experience, security, and digital transformation.
Trevonix remains focused on delivering identity solutions that combine strong security with real-world usability, helping organisations create digital experiences that are secure, scalable, and built for the future.
